One-way Current Enforcement In Cikampek Extended, Korlantas: Until An Unspecified Time

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Police has extended the application of one-way traffic flow from KM 47 to KM 414 on the Cikampek-Kalikangkung Toll Road for an indefinite period of time in order to overcome traffic congestion.

"Based on conditions in the field this morning until 02.00 WIB, there is still a large flow of vehicles from the Jakarta toll road heading east," said Head of the Operations Section of the National Police Korlantas Kombes Eddy Djunaedi in a written statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, April 29.

Eddy said that the extension of the one-way traffic engineering and the odd-even police numbers were situational.

Currently, Korlantas continues to provide developments on the situation in the field regarding the discretion of officers to facilitate the flow of Lebaran 2022 homecoming.

"Until an undetermined time. Until further notice," said Eddy.

Regarding this explanation, Eddy apologized to the public, especially road users leading to Jakarta.

However, Eddy invites the public to remain obedient to traffic rules and regulations.

"We still urge people to stay orderly on the road and take advantage of existing arterial and alternative routes. We hope you arrive safely at your destination," said Eddy.

Previously, police officers adopted a one-way discretionary policy for vehicles with even number plates from Cikampek Toll Road KM 47 to Kalikangkung Toll Gate KM 414 to break down traffic congestion on Thursday night.

Then, the officers extended in one direction because the volume of vehicles from Jakarta to the east was still quite high, resulting in traffic congestion.

"The nightly 'one way' scheme has been extended to anticipate the swift flow of homecoming from Jakarta at night," said the Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday morning.

Sambodo estimates that Thursday night will be the peak of the homecoming flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from the JORR and Inner City Toll Roads.

This is based on CCTV monitoring from the Jati Asih Outer Ring Road (JORR) Toll Road which goes to the Cikunir interchange to go towards Cikampek.
