BI Prepares IDR 1 Trillion Currency For Eid In Central Sulawesi
PALU - Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Province prepared Rp1 trillion in currency in various denominations as an effort to meet the community's need for currency throughout the region during the Eid al-Fitr holiday and collective leave.
"The currency has been distributed to BI treasuries and banks in all regions in Central Sulawesi Province since the beginning of Ramadan," said Head of the BI Office for Central Sulawesi Province Representative Dwiyanto Cahyo Sumirat, in Palu, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 28.
For banking, he asked to actively monitor the availability of currency at all Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) during the Idul Fitri holiday and collective leave.
Considering that during the holidays, he continued, banking offices were closed so they could not serve people who wanted to withdraw or exchange money at the bank and people could only withdraw money at ATMs.
"Don't let the money in the ATM machine be empty. If it's reduced, add more immediately. Especially for people who are going home in dire need of currency and during the Eid al-Fitr holidays and collective leave, they can only be obtained at ATMs," he said. meet the financial needs of all levels of society.
He explained that Morowali Regency is the area with the highest demand for currency during Eid al-Fitr and collective leave in Central Sulawesi Province because it is an industrial area with the highest number of workers from all regions in Central Sulawesi with tens of thousands of workers.
"Of the Rp1 trillion, most of it is distributed to Morowali. Moreover, the Hari Raya Allowance (THR) has been disbursed, of course, the need for money will be even higher during Eid al-Fitr and joint leave," he said.
