Democrats Denies Demonstration To Reject Job Creation Law Funded By Cikeas

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party has denied the accusation that it initiated and funded a demonstration against the Job Creation Law on Thursday, October 8.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Strategic Communication Agency (Bakomstra) DPP Democratic Party, Ossy Dermawa, in response to accusations that the Democrats or Cikeas were funding the action.

"This statement needs to be conveyed in connection with the efforts to slander and fake news launched by buzzer accounts such as @digeeembok, to discredit the Democratic Party (PD) and the Chair of the High Council of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, regarding the massive action of workers and students throughout Indonesia. who rejected the Ciptaker Law on Thursday, October 8, 2020 yesterday, "said Ossy in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, October 9.

According to him, this needs to be straightened out and provide truthful information, in order to fulfill the right to public information which is based on honesty and the principles of fair and balance.

Because, according to Ossy, these slander and hoaxes also have the potential to insult the actions of workers, students, and other elements of society who take to the streets because they purely want to voice their rejection of the Job Creation Law.

Ossy said the DPP Democrat Party will take legal action against those who make slander and baseless accusations against the Democratic Party.

It is true, the Democratic Party rejected the Job Creation Bill, as conveyed in the view of the mini faction, on October 3, 2020, and also delivered at the Plenary Session on October 5, 2020.

"These different attitudes are commonplace in democracy. As other parties do the same thing in parliament, in different contexts and problems," said Ossy.

Ossy said that a different attitude to reject the Job Creation Law was not only carried out by the Democratic Party, but also by social organizations, such as Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah, academics, non-governmental organizations, labor unions, student organizations and a number of regional heads.

Nevertheless, the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party DPP Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono has issued a directive to the Chairmen of the DPD and DPC of the Democratic Party throughout Indonesia on October 7, 2020, so that all Democratic Party cadres do not provoke and mobilize masses to protest against the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law. .

"The letter number: 119 / INT / DPP.PD / X / 2020 is proof that the Democratic Party is obedient and obedient to the constitution and obeying the laws of the country," said Ossy.

Ossy confirmed that the directive on 7 October 2020 also contained AHY's directive so that DPRD members from the Democratic Party could receive demonstrators at their respective DPRD offices.

However, the purpose of the directive was made so that the aspirations of the community regarding the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law could be channeled properly, so that demonstrators did not need to take anarchic actions because their voices were channeled.

To continue the related political struggle, the Democratic Party Faction has also sent a letter to the Chairman of the DPR RI Number: FPD.155 / DPR.RI / X / 2020 on October 9, 2020.

The letter to the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, Puan Maharani, contained a Request for a Job Creation Bill.

Ossy said the reason the letter was sent to the Speaker of the DPR was because the Democratic Party Faction had not officially obtained the Work Creation Law document after the bill was ratified into law.

In fact, in general, said Ossy, if the bill is to be passed into law, every faction in the DPR RI will receive the document.

Ossy said that there are many versions of the draft document on the Work Creation Law circulating in public spaces. However, it is not known which is the final version.

In order not to create chaos of information that can confuse the public, thereby arousing public suspicion of the government, the Democratic Party intends to study the final document of the Job Creation Law in full, so that its complete and clear substance can be known, article by article.

"The Democrat Party wants to invite all elements of society to prevent hoaxes and misinformation that can threaten social, political and domestic security," said Ossy.
