Triggered By Agate Quarrel, Man In Nias Stabs His Friend

MEDAN - Police arrested a man with the initials KH (47) for slashing his friend with the initials RN (55) in Sindrondro Village, Nias, North Sumatra.

Bawolato Police Chief AKP B Lase said the stabbing took place on Wednesday, April 27. At first the perpetrator came to the victim's house and was angry.

"The perpetrator shouted and said, 'Give me the agate, Ama Eben' while telling the victim to get out of her house. But at that time the victim was still in her house," explained AKP Lase, Thursday, April 28.

Victims who do not want to come out increasingly make the perpetrator's emotions peak. The perpetrator threw a stick at the victim's house.

"At that time, the victim told the perpetrator not to throw wood at his house. After that, the victim's wife, who finished cooking, then closed the (back) kitchen door," he said.

Suddenly the perpetrator came behind the victim's house and threw stones at the kitchen door. As a result, the kitchen door leaf board broke. At that time, the victim immediately came out and reprimanded the perpetrator.

"But the perpetrator ignored the victim's warning, instead the perpetrator approached the victim and immediately slashed the victim's head with a machete twice," he said.

Not only that, the perpetrator again tried to stab the victim. However, the victim fended off with his left hand and immediately grabbed the perpetrator's hand and hugged him until they fell to the ground," said AKP B Lase.

The victim's wife, who saw the incident, scolded the perpetrator and ran to her neighbor's house to ask for help. However, the perpetrator immediately went home.

After the incident, the victim's wife reported to the police. The perpetrator was arrested.

"The victim has been taken to the Bawolato Health Center to receive medical treatment. We have also secured the perpetrator and evidence at the Bawolato Police. Currently, an intensive investigation and examination of the perpetrator is still being carried out," said AKP Lase.
