Depak Chinese Representative, Praveen/Melati Adds List Of Indonesian Representatives In The Quarter Finals Of The 2022 Asian Badminton Championships

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti won over the representatives of China, Yan Zhe Feng/Fang Ling Lin, in the round of 16 of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships, Thursday, 28 April. With this victory, Praveen/Melati became the fourth representatives of Indonesia to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Before Pramel, Jonatan Christie, Rinov/Pitha and Chico had already qualified for the quarter-finals after overthrowing their opponents.

Appearing at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, PB Djarum's mixed doubles had to go through a rubber game for 48 minutes. Praveen/Melati finally closed the match with a score of 22-20, 16-21 and 21-11 over Yan/Fang.

In the first game, Praveen/Melati got into trouble. They even left too far points in the first interval that is 3-11. After a pause, Pramel just started to heat up and tried to catch up quickly.

Praveen's attacks become a point mine. However, Feng/Lin were still able to get points and had stuck to the score of 16-16. Praveen / Melati then turned 17-16 ahead and were able to comeback and then secure the first game with a 22-20 victory.

In the second game, Praveen/Melati again struggled because at the interval they were already behind with a score of 8-11. Had to catch up, but the effort did not bear fruit because this time the Chinese representatives won 21-16.

Both secure one victory, the game was forced to continue to the rubber game round. At the beginning of this deciding round, Praveen/Melati were able to steal points first and went smoothly 11-8 at the interval despite being chased. After the first half of the third half, Praveen/Melati continued to make a distance of two to three points. After a score of 13-11, Praveen/Melati managed to look good and locked the opponent to finally win 21-11 for a ticket to the quarter-finals.
