AMBON - The Secretary of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Maluku Province, Justini Pawa, said that the stock of necessities was abundant in the market. He appealed to the public not to panic buy or wholesale basic needs ahead of Eid 2022.
"We urge residents not to panic and then buy up basic needs in excess. The stock of basic needs is currently available in large quantities in the market and meets the needs of the community before and after Lebaran this year," said Maluku TPID Secretary Justini Pawa, in Ambon, Thursday, April 28. .
The public is advised to shop wisely, namely according to their needs. Do not buy and store at home because this action will reduce the availability of goods in the market resulting in rising prices and resulting in inflation.
Justini admitted that the Maluku TPID together with the Maluku Province food task force carried out monitoring of traditional markets and several modern retail markets as well as distributor centers on a regular basis to ensure the availability of basic necessities ahead of the National Religious Holiday (HBKN) Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah in good condition. enough, so that people can meet their basic needs safely because all goods are available in the market.
"So just spend as little as possible, don't buy and store at home because the impact is reduced stock and soaring prices," he said.
Justini, who is also the Head of the Economic Bureau of the Maluku Regional Secretariat, emphasized that the Maluku Provincial Government continues to make efforts to control inflation as well as efforts to maintain and increase people's purchasing power through several policies, including coordinating and collaborating with regencies/cities, relevant agencies, shipping companies and distributors.
According to him, Maluku Governor Murad Ismail always directs TPID to control inflation by implementing a 4K strategy, namely the availability of supplies of basic necessities, affordability of prices, smooth distribution and effective communication. the amount is sufficient and the resistance can be up to two to three months.
"The availability of premium rice stocks at distributors lasts until the third week of May, and every two weeks the stock always increases because it is supplied from East Java and South Sulawesi in line with the smooth distribution of PT Pelindo," he said.
In addition, local rice from production centers such as Buru Island, Central Maluku, West Seram (SBB) and East Seram (SBT) is still available considering the new rice harvest time at the end of March 2022 and is still being carried out.
Meanwhile, the medium stock and resilience of rice, both in distributor warehouses and in Bulog warehouses, will meet the needs of the community for the next five months.
Likewise, granulated sugar can last up to one month, cooking oil for the next three months, and eggs can last up to fourteen days.
"We also continue to coordinate with TPID in 11 regencies/cities in Maluku to ensure the availability and affordability of basic necessities in each region to meet the needs of the community ahead of Eid al-Fitr," he said.
