Herbal Medicine Shop Selling Alcohol On The Roadside Raided By Joint Officers

JAKARTA - Joint officers again combed a number of stalls selling alcoholic beverages with the mode of selling traditional herbal medicine on the roadside in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta.

"Today's activity is controlling liquor, the main target of retailers on the streets," Gambir District Chief of Police, Delky Siregar, Wednesday, April 27, evening.

The operation was carried out following up on community reports that the cause of street crime was the influence of alcohol.

To that end, joint officers held liquor operations in a number of liquor sales places.

"Information from the public, many encourage brawls and SOTR is influenced by alcohol. That's why we are ordering it," he said.

To trick the officers, the bottles containing alcoholic beverages were hidden in several places such as wagon wheelbarrows, cardboard boxes and other places.

"On average, they sell herbal medicine along with selling alcohol. We confiscate approximately one hundred bottles as evidence," he said.

The sellers who were visited by the officers during the operation could not show a license for selling liquor when the officers carried out the operation. Finally, the bottle containing the liquor was secured and an inspection report (BAP) was made by the Satpol PP.

"We will resume operations during the holy month of Ramadan," he said.
