129 Civilians Become Victims Of Riots Demonstration Rejecting Job Creation Law

JAKARTA - The riot in the middle of a demonstration rejecting the passage of the Job Creation Law left various damages, including injured victims. There are hundreds of civilians who were victims of the riot.

"There are 129 demonstrators or civilians injured," said Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, to reporters, Friday, October 9.

The victims have been given treatment in various hospitals. However, it was not explained in detail about the number of those who suffered serious and minor injuries.

"They are treated in all hospitals in Jakarta," he said.

The injured victims were also members of the National Police. Previously, Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said 23 personnel were injured while securing the chaos.

In fact, one of the policewomen who took part in the guard also suffered a fracture in his hand. This policewoman must undergo intensive care at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

"Yes, it is true that 23 Polri personnel were injured during yesterday's demonstration security activities," said Yusri.

From police data, 19 Polri personnel who were previously treated have been allowed to return home. The rest are still undergoing intensive care.

"There are only 4 left now who are still being treated at the National Police hospital in Kramat Jati. There are only 4 left to be treated because it is a bit severe," said Yusri.
