KKB Members Arrested While Attacking TNI Posts At Quari Atas Nduga Papua

JAYAPURA - TNI soldiers from the Quari Atas Kindergarten Post, Yonif R 431/SSP, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua, arrested a member of the armed criminal group (KKB) when they were about to attack the TNI post.

"Wednesday's arrest began when KKB members tried to enter the post," said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman, in Jayapura as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 27.

From the report he received, it was revealed that at around 05.00 WIT it was seen that someone was creeping into the Upper Quari Post of Infantry Battalion R 431/SSP until members tried to arrest him.

In addition, he said, other KKB members with firearms were seen approaching and shooting at the post, resulting in a shootout.

KKB carrying firearms then fled towards the river, but members managed to catch one unarmed person.

"The person concerned has been handed over to the Nduga Police for further processing," he said.

Meanwhile, the Nduga Police Chief, AKBP Komang Budhiarta, separately admitted that he had received KKB members who had been arrested by the TNI.

"Currently, Musa Nawipa is still being investigated," said AKBP Komang, who was contacted from Jayapura.
