JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri arrested the perpetrator who spread the hoaxes of the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja with the initials VE (36). The perpetrator was arrested in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said the arrest of VE took place on Thursday, October 8. The arrest was based on a police report with the number LP / B / 573 / X / 2020 / Bareskrim, October 7, 2020.
"Yes, it is true, the perpetrator was arrested at Andani Kost, to be precise Jalan Masjid Baiturrahman Mawar number 85, Karampu Village, Panakukang District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province," said Argo to VOI, Friday, October 9.
The spread of hoaxes was carried out by the perpetrators through the social media account Twitter @videlyaeyang. With the spread of this fake news, it caused confusion in the community, especially among workers.
"Posting or broadcasting fake news on a Twitter account that causes confusion," said Argo.
The perpetrator was charged under the suspicion of Article 14 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) and / or Article 15 of Law Number 1 Year 1946 concerning broadcasting false news or notifications.
The rioting of the Job Creation Act demonstration also occurred in Makassar. Students who gathered at the DPRD Sulsel building made a scene when they were pushed back towards the Urip Sumoharjo flyover.
