The Peak Of Homecoming Flows At Tanjung Priok Port Is Estimated D-3 Lebaran

JAKARTA - The peak of the homecoming flow at the Tanjung Priok Passenger Port, North Jakarta, is expected to occur on Friday, April 29 or D-3 before Idul Fitri along with the implementation of the second wave of the free homecoming program.

"Friday, we expect it to be even more crowded, that's the peak of the homecoming flow," said Head of the Tanjung Priok Port Lebaran Sea Transportation Coordination Post AKP Weni Sianipar in North Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 27.

Weni explained that the estimated peak of the homecoming flow on Friday (29/4) was because the second wave of free homecoming program was still ongoing with the number of registered motorcycles reaching 788 motorcycles and 1,785 passengers.

This number is higher than the realization of the homecoming flow on Tuesday (26/4) which reached 1,201 passengers boarding and disembarking at Tanjung Priok Port based on data from the Tanjung Priok Main Port Authority Office.

Furthermore, the free homecoming transportation for the return trip on May 9 was registered as many as 578 motorcycles and 1,335 people registered. As for May 11, there were 287 motorcycles and 629 registered people.

Two ships used for free homecoming, namely KM Dobonsolo which was used in the first wave on Tuesday (26/4) and KM Ciremai which operated the second wave of free homecoming on Friday (29/4).

The two ships are under BUMN, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) as the operator. The two ships have a capacity of 2,500 passengers and 1,250 motorcycles.

The Tanjung Priok Main Port Authority Office noted that the number of homecomers from D-15 Lebaran or April 17 2022 to April 27 2022 at 10.00 WIB who went up and down at Tanjung Priok Port reached 10,350 people.

In detail, passengers up reached 4,944 people and passengers down reached 5,406 people. The realization rose 375 percent when compared to the same period in 2021.

The number of fleets serving the homecoming flow reached 19 ships each for departures and arrivals.
