Support The Local Economy, Ministry Of PUPR Builds Infrastructure In Central Java
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is carrying out rapid infrastructure development in order to pursue investment feasibility and the infrastructure competitiveness index.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said infrastructure development is one of the important driving factors to increase economic growth both nationally and regionally.
In order to support the growing local courts, Basuki said, his party had built several infrastructures in Central Java and Yogyakarta. For example, the Manahan Flyover and Manahan Stadium in Solo, as well as the Kamijoro Weir in Kulon Progo Regency.
"Since 2017, Indonesia has been categorized as a country with an investment grade rating by three international rating agencies and currently Indonesia is ranked 52nd in the infrastructure competitiveness index. With massive infrastructure development, in the future we hope to be more than that," he said in a statement. written statement received by VOI, Friday, October 9.
Basuki said, infrastructure development not only aims to improve the economy in the area, but also to overcome heavy traffic flow.
For example, the construction of the Manahan Flyover is 600 meters long and 9 meters wide. Due to this development, congestion due to the crossing of a Solo to Yogyakarta railroad track has been reduced slightly.
This flyover was built in February 2018, then the first handover of work / provisional hand over (PHO) was carried out on December 10, 2018. On December 22, 2018, open traffic (functional) trials were conducted. The flyover construction uses the same technology as the Antapani Flyover in Bandung, West Java, namely Corrugated Mortarbusa Pusjatan (CMP).
Meanwhile, to support the holding of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the PUPR Ministry has completed the renovation of the Manahan Stadium Solo which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in February 2020.
Basuki said that this stadium with a capacity of 20,000 spectators used single seats decorated with Kawung batik motifs as a characteristic of Solo culture. Another advantage that Manahan Stadium will have is the quality of the grass, because the grass planted is the Zoysia Japonica type, which has the advantage of being greener and has strong roots. For lighting will use lighting quality up to 1,500 lux.
Another infrastructure that President Joko Widodo inaugurated in early 2020 is the Kamijoro Dam in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The Kamijoro Dam will irrigate 2,370 hectares of rice fields in Bantul Regency and is expected to increase the planting intensity from 205 percent to 270 percent.
"This weir also functions to meet the raw water needs of 25 liters / second for Bantul Regency and 475 liters / second for Yogyakarta International Airport and the Sentolo Industrial area in Kulonprogo Regency," he said.
