Trimegah Admits Ever Handling Jiwasraya Share Transactions

JAKARTA - PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk admits that it has handled the share trading of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya. This is because Jiwasraya is indeed one of Trimegah's customers.

PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk is one of the parties questioned as a witness by the Attorney General's Office in connection with the alleged criminal case at Jiwasraya.

Trimegah Sekuritas Corporate Secretary, Agus Priyambada, in a written statement quoted on Friday, January 10, stated that PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk has and will always be cooperative in the investigation process carried out by the Attorney General's Office and / or other agencies related to the Jiwasraya case.

"In its capacity as a securities brokerage company, PT Trimegah Sekuritas Tbk is one of the securities companies that receives orders to buy and / or sell shares from its customers, including Jiwasraya and / or the Investment Manager who manages investments," said Agus.

He emphasized that PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk provides transaction services to all customers, and according to instructions from customers. In addition, he said, it was carried out with the principle of prudence and good governance in accordance with the provisions and laws in force.

PT Trimegah Asset Management as a subsidiary whose 99.9 percent of shares are owned by PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk is not included as a party to be questioned in the Jiwasraya case. But for now he said, PT Trimegah Asset Management does not manage Jiwasraya funds.

For information, the AGO has summoned the President Director of PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk Stefanus Turangan some time ago. This summons was made to ask for his testimony with the capacity to be one of the witnesses of the alleged corruption in Jiwasraya.

Apart from asking to be a witness, the AGO has also conducted a search of the company and secured documents and computers to serve as evidence of the case.
