Set A Champion Target At The 2021 SEA Games, Shin Tae-yong: There's No Reason Not To Win
JAKARTA - The head coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, is reluctant to accept any reason regarding the target set for the 2021 SEA Games Hanoi. The South Korean coach wants the U-23 national team squad to win and bring home a gold medal from Vietnam.
For Shin Tae-yong, what he did was a form of optimism for his squad ahead of appearing in the prestigious event. This was stated by the coach because he saw the good development of his foster children.
"There is no reason for that (not winning). They (the players) continue to give messages of hope and are so excited. Please watch Indonesia continue to grow," Shin said as quoted from Donga, Tuesday.
Currently, the U-23 national team is still in South Korea to undergo a training camp in preparation for appearing at the SEA Games. While carrying out the agenda, Shin Tae-yong also continued to monitor the team's progress where based on his observations the Garuda Muda squad was showing improvement from day to day.
"The fact that the tempo of the passes and the rhythm of the game is increasing and the fact that the young players are starting to realize that playing with joy can be an advantage."
Regarding the slow tempo and rhythm, Shin Tae-yong mentioned this material after the U-23 Indonesian national team lost 0-2 to Pohang Steelers in a test match three days ago.
After the trial, the U-23 national team could not rest. The reason is, they will again undergo a test match on Wednesday, April 27 against the K League 2 club, Daejon Hana Citizen, who last weekend defeated the Ansan Greeners club.
The trial agenda will be the last one before the U-23 national team returns to Indonesia first before leaving for Vietnam to undergo matches at the SEA Games.
