Abandoned By The Owner To The Hospital, Three People In A Locked House Almost Caught Fire Due To An Electric Short Circuit

JAKARTA - A two-story residential house located on Jalan Dr. Nurdin 3, Gang 3, RT 010/007, No.26, Grogol Village, Petamburan District, West Jakarta, burned down on Tuesday, April 26.

One resident named Marsel (25) suffered burns. The victim was taken to the nearest health center.

"The fire was successfully localized at 11.45 WIB. The time for extinguishing operations was completed at 12.25 WIB," said Head of West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Sjukri Bahanan when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, April 26.

The process of extinguishing the fire was carried out after the Gulkarmat Sub-dept. received reports from residents who contacted the fire station by telephone.

"The object that caught fire was a two-story permanent residence," he said.

A total of 12 fire engines were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished with the help of 60 firefighters.

"The cause is suspected to have occurred due to an electrical short circuit. The area of the object that was burned was 192 square meters. The loss was estimated at Rp 800 million," he said.

Meanwhile, according to Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officer, Ahmad Sanjoyo, the owner of the house was going to the hospital to visit his sick son. Meanwhile, continued Ahmad, his other son was at home.

"The owner is in the hospital. He said his child is sick. The house is inhabited by three people," Ahmad said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, April 26.

Ahmad also explained that when the incident occurred, the house was empty and locked. Luckily, when the fire grew, the occupants of the house managed to escape.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered material losses of Rp. 800 million.
