MAKASSAR - Tense conditions still occur in Makassar. Now clashes are taking place in Unismuh, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
According to VOI's monitoring , clashes occurred starting at 23.50 WITA, Thursday, October 8. A crowd on the Alauddin Makassar campus clashed with the police at the T-junction of the Pettarani AP route.
The clash occurred when the police used a water cannon trying to disperse the crowd in front of the Alauddin Makassar campus.
"5 minutes beaten back," said Mawa, a witness at the scene to VOI .
But at another point, students are already getting ready to 'welcome' the police. Students have gathered in Talasalapang, Rappocini, Makassar.
Here it took nearly half an hour to repel the masses. But the police finally managed to control the conditions.
The masses have now entered the Unismuh campus. Police are still on standby around the location.
Governor of South Sulawesi, Prof. HM Nurdin Abdullah gave a response regarding the current condition of the demonstrations carried out in the last two days related to the Omnibus Law.
Prof. NA stated that he appreciated the demonstration by students and workers who were genuinely fighting for the aspirations of the people in relation to the law.
"We understand it as a form of call to the intellectual conscience as campus people," said Nurdin, Thursday, October 8.
Therefore, Nurdin hopes that this action must be strictly maintained so that it remains on its original goal and runs peacefully, well, in an orderly manner.
"I hope that this action must be properly maintained so that it stays on its original goal and runs peacefully, orderly, obeying the rules and not becoming anarchist," he said.
