Cikarang Court Sentences 4 Thieves To 9-10 Months In Prison

BEKASI - The panel of judges at the Cikarang District Court, Bekasi Regency, West Java, convicted and sentenced four perpetrators of violent theft or robbery cases in Tambelang District to the end of July 2021.

The verdict was read out by the Cikarang District Court Judges during the follow-up hearing, Monday, April 25.

"The four defendants were found guilty of committing the crime of theft with violence in accordance with Article 365 of the Criminal Code," said Chair of the Panel of Judges Chandra Ramadani when reading the verdict.

The four defendants are Muhammad Fikri, a Koran teacher and HMI cadre, Abdul Rohman alias Adul, Andrianto alias Miing, and Muhammad Rizki alias Kentung. All four attended the online trial.

Meanwhile, the families of the defendants witnessed the trial in person in the Candra Courtroom Cikarang District Court accompanied by legal counsel from the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute and KontraS.

The panel of judges decided that the defendant was found guilty of committing the crime of theft with violence against the victim on behalf of Darusman Ferdiansyah on Jalan Raya Sukaraja, Sukaraja Village, Tambelang District, Bekasi Regency, Saturday, July 24, 2021.

The defendants Fikri, Andrianto, and Rizki were sentenced to nine months in prison with a temporary detention period cut while undergoing the legal process.

"Criminalized Muhammad Fikri, Andrianto, and Muhammad Rizki with imprisonment for nine months each. With an order that the defendant remains in detention, it will be reduced as long as the defendant is in temporary detention," said Chandra.

Another defendant, Abdul Rohman, was sentenced to 10 months in prison because he was proven to have evidence in the form of a sickle that was used to injure the victim.

"The defendant Abdul Rohman was sentenced to 10 months in prison, with an order that the defendant remains in custody, reduced for as long as the defendant is in temporary detention," he said.

This case began when a robbery victim named Darusman Ferdiansyah admitted to being robbed on Jalan Raya Sukaraja, RT 002/003, Sukaraja Village, Tambelang District, Bekasi Regency, last Saturday (24/7/2022), at around 01.30 WIB.

The report was registered with the number LP/B/968-13/VII/2021/SPKT/Tambelang Police/Bekasi Police/Polda Metro Jaya.

The police investigator who asked the victim for information showed the victim's face photos of the alleged robbery. The victim later admitted to recognizing the faces of two people suspected of being the perpetrators of the robbery.

The Tambelang Police immediately arrested four suspected perpetrators, namely Muhammad Fikri, Abdul Rohman alias Adul, Andrianto alias Miing, and Muhammad Rizki alias Kentung.

Also confiscated was a Honda Vario motorcycle, sharp weapons in the form of a sickle from Abdul Rohman's hand, a Honda Beat Street, a black jacket with red trim along with a black hat, and three cell phones, all of which belonged to the suspect.

The family reported the case to Kompolnas because they believed that the four suspects were not at the location when the burglary took place. The family, who was accompanied by the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute and KontraS, also reported members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tambelang Police, Bekasi Regency, to the Metro Police Propam on suspicion of wrongful arrest.
