The Plenary Session Of The Jayapura City DPRD Proposes The Dismissal Of The Mayor And Deputy For The 2017-2022 Period

JAYAPURA - The Plenary Meeting of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Jayapura City proposed the termination of the tenure of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Jayapura for the 2017-2022 period.

The chairman of the Jayapura City DPRD, Abisai Rollo, said that the results of the meeting on the termination of the terms of office of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be reported to the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.

"So that later it will be continued to the central government that we have conducted a trial and the preparations for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will continue to carry out their duties until the end of May 22 2022," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 25.

He explained that based on the results of the trial, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) would then appoint a technician for the Mayor of Jayapura.

"I thank you and we appreciate the performance of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor so far in building the city of Jayapura, hopefully in the future it will always be successful," he said.

He added that his party hopes that the two leaders within the Jayapura City Government will continue to work and realize the welfare of the people of Port Numbay.

"Stay humble, we once again give high appreciation for the mandate that has been carried out as a leader in Jayapura City," he said.

To note, the announcement of the proposed dismissal was made after receiving a letter from the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendgari) Number 131/2188/OTDA on March 24, 2022.
