JAKARTA – Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid. The 29-year-old has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the Spanish giants.
The news of Rudiger's transfer was leaked to the public after journalist Fabrizio Romano made a tweet on Twitter. He said, currently both parties are in the process of negotiations.
"Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Antonio Rüdiger. The contract has not yet been signed, but Real Madrid are now closing the Rudiger deal for free: here we go soon!" wrote Romano.

The agreement between Madrid and Rudiger will be a long-term deal. The final details of the negotiations will soon be discussed before moving on to the process of signing the contract.
Rudiger's desire to leave the Blues has started to emerge since the beginning of this season. The 29-year-old has even refused to extend his contract which is due to expire on June 30, 2022 nearest.
Before being rumored to be in Madrid, the German international was also linked with Barcelona. However, the incoming offer from the Blaugrana did not heed the player who preferred the Santiago Bernabeu as his new destination.
Previously, Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, had also confirmed the future of his mainstay defender. The German coach said that Rudiger chose to leave Stamford Bridge in the transfer window this season.
"The current situation is that he wants to leave the club. He told me about his desire in a one-on-one conversation," Tuchel said after the match against West Ham United on Sunday, April 24 yesterday, as reported by Sky Sport.
