Srimulat Film Synopsis: The Impossible Hil, Offers Jokes And Meaning Of Life
JAKARTA - The film Srimulat: Hil the Mustahal will be released in theaters starting May 19. The title refers to a phrase that was popular when Asmuni first joined. The film Srimulat: Hil the Mustahal is the first biopic of the legendary comedy group Srimulat.
Set in 1981, this film will focus on the issue where Srimulat's career began to rise and became increasingly known in Indonesia. At that time, comedy was seen as something that could unite Indonesia's diversity. Srimulat also managed to become the first comedy group to appear on national television.
Before broadcasting on television in 1980, the Srimulat group had actually been established since 1950. At that time, it was Slamet Rahardjo who founded this comedy group which was then widely known by the Indonesian people.
In historical records, Asmuni joined when Srimulat was shaken by the departure of a number of players, such as Johny Gudel, Suroto and several others.
The production house, which is a collaboration between MNC Pictures and IDN Pictures, has its own challenges because the production process begins during the pandemic.
However, this did not prevent director Fajar Nugros from making the film about the lives of the Srimulat personnel into an interesting treat for Indonesian families to watch. Moreover, there is a historical value that is carried in the film.
"I hope this film will not only give laughter, but also give meaning. It will not only entertain Indonesia who is tired due to the pandemic, but also make us reread the meaning of unity through Indonesian, just like what Srimulat was fighting for through his comedy," said Fajar Nugros. quoted from ANTARA, Monday, April 25.
He said, indeed, there was a mission to inflame the value of unity and integrity in this family comedy. Until now, Srimulat's jokes are still considered relevant to the lives of the younger generation.
"Srimulat is one of the most well-known comedy groups, each member has a strong characteristic that fans will always remember. Until now, Srimulat is still an inspiration for comedians today because his jokes are timeless. nostalgia and cures the audience's longing for Srimulat's witty acts," said MNC Pictures President Director Titan Hermawan.
The film Srimulat: Hil Yang Mustahal also explores the history of comedy-themed shows, one of which was pioneered by Srimulat.
"We hope that the spirit and impact that the Srimulat group has given to this country, we can feel and celebrate together when the film is released in theaters," said Head of IDN Pictures Susanti Dewi.
