South Sumatra Gets Quota Of 3,183 Hajj Pilgrims Candidates

PALEMBANG - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) South Sumatra received a quota of prospective pilgrims (CJH) for the community in 17 districts/cities in the province for the departure of 2022 reaching 3,183 people.

"To divide the quota into each district/city, CJH verification is currently being carried out which is on the priority waiting list to be dispatched according to the provisions," said Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Religion's Regional Office, Deny Priansyah in Palembang, as reported by Antara, Monday, April 25.

According to him, people who pass the verification and are designated as prospective pilgrims for this year's departure are asked to re-register at the bank where the initial payment is made.

"The plan is for re-registration to be opened at banks where Hajj travel costs are paid off on May 9, 2022," he said. Meanwhile, Head of the Hajj and Umrah Division of the South Sumatra Ministry of Religion's Regional Office, Armet Dachil, added that during the COVID-19 pandemic, pilgrims departing will implement strict health protocols. and mandatory full vaccination.

Complete vaccination for pilgrims who will go to Hajj, in addition to COVID-19 vaccine doses one, two including boosters, meningitis and flu vaccines are also mandatory.

"With the protection of the vaccine, it is hoped that pilgrims from South Sumatra can go and carry out the entire series of pilgrimages in Mecca, Saudi Arabia well and in good health until they return to the country," he said.
