Residents Of Gembrong Market In East Jakarta Call The Fire Started With A Gas Stove Explosion
JAKARTA - East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. officers together with local residents are still working to extinguish the fire that is still blazing in the Pasar Gembrong area, RT 04/01, Cipinang Besar Utara Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Sunday 24 April, evening.
A total of 25 fire engines with 105 Gulkarmat officers are still trying to extinguish the red-hot fire.
Although the process of extinguishing the fire has been carried out since 21.15 p.m., until 23.30 p.m., the fire is still growing.
According to Ilah's statement, a woman who lives near the location of the fire, it is suspected that the fire was caused by a gas stove from one of the residents' houses.
"Initially it was gas, the location (of the fire) was very close to where my parents lived. At first, the gas exploded. The incident was over," said the woman at the location.

Until now, firefighters are still carrying out the process of extinguishing the fire which is difficult to tame. Water supply is one of the obstacles in the process of extinguishing the fire at the site.
Previously, it was reported that as many as 14 fire engines with 70 officers were deployed to extinguish a house fire that occurred in the Pasar Gembrong area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Sunday night, April 24.
"A total of 14 units and 70 personnel were launched to the TKP (the crime scene)," said the Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service through the official Instagram (@humasjakfire), quoted on Sunday, April 24.
The fire was reported to have occurred in a residential building on Jalan Jenderal Basuki Rahmat, No. 8, RW 10, Cipinang Besar Utara Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
