Case Of Embezzlement Of Tax Money At Samsat Kelapa Dua Tangerang, Banten Prosecutor's Office Sets 4 Suspects

BANTEN - The Banten High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named four suspects in the alleged embezzlement of Rp 6 billion in tax money at the UPTD Samsat Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency.

Banten Attorney General's Office Head Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak said three of the four suspects named were employees of the Kelapa Dua Samsat and the rest were people from outside the agency.

He added that the four suspects had the initials B, Z, AP and MBI. Meanwhile, those who are not from Samsat are B.

"Z's position is Head of Billing and Deposits at UPTD Kelapa Dua, AP is a civil servant with a staff position in charge of the determination section at Samsat Kelapa Dua. MBI is an honorary member of the voluntary workforce at UPTD Samsat Kelapa Dua," he explained.

In addition to identifying the suspect, his party also conducted searches at the Banten Provincial Bapenda office and the UPTD Samsat Kelapa Dua office, Tangerang Regency. As a result, his party confiscated evidence ranging from flash drives and cash amounting to Rp29 million.

"There are documents related to the case which consist of a bundle of screenshots, a flash drive, and more than IDR 29 million in cash," he explained.

On this occasion Leonard said that in order to speed up the results of the examination and smooth the investigation stage, his party detained four suspects for 20 days.

"His detention was from April 22 to May 11, 2022 at the Pandeglang Detention Center," he said.
