Papua DPR Speaker Johny Banua And His Wife Are Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Papua DPR, Johny Banua Rouw and his wife tested positive for COVID-19. Both are currently carrying out independent isolation at home.
"It is true that the laboratory examination results on the swab test stated positive for the new corona," said Johny Rouw by telephone as reported by Antara, in Jayapura, Thursday, October 8.
He admitted that he had done the swab test three times but the first two tests were negative, while the next test was positive so he immediately carried out a thorough examination and the results were good. He then asked the medical team to carry out independent isolation at home.
Before the swab test, he felt unwell, his neck felt hot, so on Saturday, October 3, he asked for the test and the results came out Monday, October 5.
When asked how many people in the DPR Papua environment tested positive for COVID-19, Johny Rouw admitted that there were about 30 people with the most staff.
"Regarding members of the DPR Papua who are positive for COVID-19, I cannot disclose because it is privacy, but for sure I am also positive," he said.
Papua COVID-19 Prevention and Handling Task Force spokesperson dr. Silwanus Sumule separately admitted that the number of positive cases of the virus in the area continued to increase and currently there were 7,235 positive people spread across 20 districts and cities.
It is recorded that 2,760 people are currently being treated, both independently and centrally, including in hospitals, 4,363 people recovered and 112 people died.
Seven districts that were declared green zones for the COVID-19 pandemic, he said, were Gunung Bintang District, Lanny Jaya, Yalimo, Mamberamo Tengah, Puncak Jaya, Waropen and Mappi.
