Supporting Indonesian MSMEs, Bank BTN Collaborates With KoinWorks
JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) is again expanding cooperation by collaborating with KoinWorks, a financial technology (fintech) platform that provides a variety of financial needs for personal and business.
President Director of Bank BTN, Pahala Mansury said the strategic move was in line with the government's efforts to build a strong economic foundation in the framework of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) through the MSME sector. According to him, this partnership is the company's support in encouraging the development and capacity building of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, especially in the property sector.
"Through this credit distribution cooperation, he continued, Bank BTN seeks to provide opportunities for MSMEs to have greater mobility in the property sector supply chain," Pahala said in a virtual press conference, Thursday, October 8.
Pahala hopes that MSME players can fill the supply chain in the property industry to accelerate growth in this sector. By cooperating with KoinWorks, added Pahala, the company believes it can reach more and more MSME players.
"We believe that a more dynamic collaboration with KoinWorks can make credit analysis and customer experience better," he said.
Through this partnership, prospective MSME debtors in the property sector such as suppliers, contractors and subcontractors can access credit of up to IDR 1 billion through KoinBisnis' services on the KoinWorks platform.
Later, this credit can be immediately received by prospective debtors with complete documents within 5 days. In the initial stage, the total credit value of Bank BTN which was distributed through KoinWorks reached IDR 75 billion.
On the same occasion, KoinWorks CEO and Co-founder Benedicto Haryono explained that as a platform that also focuses on providing financial services for business actors, including SMEs, KoinWorks adds a line of KoinBisnis strategic partners to channel SME financing in Indonesia.
"This partnership also proves again that the credit scoring system used by KoinWorks for KoinBisnis can help expand access to financing to support Indonesia's economic growth through SMEs," said Benedicto.
Meanwhile, until now Bank BTN has coached 4,792 MSME debtors in both the conventional and Sharia segments. These thousands of debtors consist of 13 business sectors ranging from real estate, construction to agriculture.
As of August 2020, this issuer coded as BBTN shares has distributed loans to the Small Medium Enterprises (SME) sector of around Rp1.9 trillion. This position is up 18.19 percent on an annual basis (year-on-year / yoy) from IDR1.63 trillion in the same month last year.
