Mayor: Don't Worry, Yogyakarta Is Safe To Visit

YOGYAKARTA - Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti ensured the "gudeg city" was in a safe, comfortable, and ready to receive tourist visits during the Eid holiday.

"Don't worry about coming to Yogyakarta. The city of Yogyakarta is safe, comfortable, and healthy to visit," said Haryadi Suyuti after leading the Ketupat Progo Operations Troop Ceremony at the Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, April 22.

In the apple, Haryadi asked all officers to create security and comfort in every corner of the city of Yogyakarta.

"Order and security do not only take place during ceremonies, but must be realized throughout the city of Yogyakarta," he said.

The amount of negative news about security conditions in the city of Yogyakarta because of "klitih" street crimes, according to him, is quite detrimental to the city's image. However, he ensured that the Yogyakarta City Government together with all elements of society made maximum efforts to create security and order in the community.

"The potential for vulnerability is certainly our concern and we always follow up with fast handling. Hopefully, Yogyakarta will always be safe and comfortable," he continued.

Therefore, Wali Koya Haryadi hopes that the realization of security and public order will make tourists not feel afraid or worried about visiting Yogyakarta. The government together with the TNI, Polri, and the community always try to create a safe and comfortable condition for Yogyakarta, he added.

To support security and comfort during the Eid holiday, there are around 3,000 joint personnel from the National Police, TNI, Satpol PP, and related agencies.

Yogyakarta City Police Deputy AKBP Fahmi Arifrianto said his party was ready to implement security to create security and comfort for the community in carrying out activities during fasting and Eid, while still complying with health protocols.
