A Number Of Parties Who Were Detained During The April 21 Labor-Student Demonstration Were Not Mass Demonstrations, The Police Had Already Been Sent Home
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya repatriated a number of people who had been arrested during student and labor demonstrations on April 21, yesterday. Because they are not proven to have committed a crime.
"All of them have been sent home, only their statements have been taken," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes E. Zulpan when confirmed, Friday, April 22.
Although they did not violate the criminal code, it was proven that all the parties arrested were not from the student and labor elements. From the data collection, the majority are students.
A number of people were detained in several locations. They are netted at screening points.
"They don't belong to the Indonesian Student Alliance group and they don't belong to the KASBI labor group. So we send them home," said Zulpan.
Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya arrested several people during a student demonstration on April 21, yesterday. Those arrested are said to have tried to break through the security barricades.
The arrested parties, one of whom tried to break into the Merdeka Palace. They tried to forcibly pass through the barricades that had been created.
