Ridwan Kamil Calls There Are 2 Types Of COVID-19 Vaccines In Indonesia: Import And Own Production
JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said that there are two types of COVID-19 vaccines that will be used in Indonesia, namely vaccines imported from abroad and domestic vaccines that are in the process of clinical trials by Biofarma.
Ridwan Kamil said this after opening the West Java Scout Movement XIV Regional Conference in Bogor Raya Lakeside, Bogor City, Wednesday.
According to Ridwan Kamil, vaccines imported from abroad, information from the central government, will arrive next month (November). "Imported vaccines focus on health workers," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 8.
Meanwhile, domestically produced vaccines, according to him, are currently in the third phase of testing for volunteers. Ridwan Kamil, is one of the volunteers who has undergone a vaccine test in two stages. "The decision will be successful or not in December," he said.
Ridwan Kamil, who has undergone a vaccine test twice, said that if his antibodies increased, the domestically produced vaccine would be successful, so that in January 2021 it could be mass produced.
"Later, the management will be produced while giving the vaccine. So, it can be injected for certain parties, from January to the end of 2021," he said.
Meanwhile, the central government has chosen Bogor City as one of the locations for the COVID-19 vaccine immunization which is scheduled for early 2021.
Bogor Mayor Bima Arya appointed the Tanah Sareal Health Center, on Jalan Kesehatan, Bogor City, as the location for the COVID-19 vaccine immunization.
The team from the Ministry of Health conducted a trial simulation of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Tanah Sareal Community Health Center, Bogor City, on Sunday, October 4. Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya and Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Dedie a Rachim, attended the simulation activity.
According to Bima Arya, the Bogor City Government, through the Health Office, has ensured that the Tanah Sareal Puskesmas is ready to be the place for the Puskesmas vaccine immunization. "This readiness, both in location, medical personnel as the executor, as well as the flow system in the implementation process," he said.
