One House In Sleman Destroyed Allegedly Due To Explosion Of Firecrackers, Police Asked To Intervene

YOGYAKARTA - A house in Plosokuning 5 Village, Minomartani, Ngaglik District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region was razed to the ground due to a large explosion thought to have originated from firecrackers, Friday, April 22 morning.

According to Mustafa's eye witness, the explosion occurred at around 08.00 WIB with a very loud explosion sound.

"The sound of the explosion was very loud, it was even heard up to a radius of more than one kilometer," he said as quoted by Antara.

As a result of the explosion, the permanent house building collapsed to the ground. "Meanwhile, the owner of Munadi's house survived and was not injured," he said.

He said the house consisted of two buildings, front and back, with the front building used by Munadi's wife to sell or open a shop.

"The house that was destroyed is the building in the back," he said. Mustafa hopes that the authorities will immediately investigate the case of the suspected firecracker explosion, considering that the location of the incident is a densely populated village.

"We hope that the authorities can immediately coordinate and investigate this explosion. Do not let any residents make firecrackers, especially since it is approaching Eid al-Fitr," he said.

He said that apart from destroying Munadi's house, the explosion also damaged several houses around the scene.

"There were several neighboring houses that were also damaged, such as falling tiles and broken windows," said a community leader in Plosokuning 3 Village, which is not too far from Plosokuning 5.
