Police Arrest Online Taxi Driver Who Harassed Passengers In Tulungagung

TULUNGAGUNG - Tulungagung Resort Police (Polres) officers, East Java arrested an online taxi driver with the initials DA, for allegedly harassing NM (21) passenger.

"Yes, we arrested this perpetrator after we received a complaint from the victim," said the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Tulungagung Police AKP Agung Kurnia Putra, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 21.

There was no resistance from the DA when the online taxi driver was arrested by the officers. He could only surrender.

In front of the investigator who examined him, DA also could not deny the allegations reported by the victim NM.

The perpetrator admitted that he liked the victim, whom he had known for some time. NM has even chartered his vehicle several times to take his sick grandfather to the hospital for treatment.

The incident of harassment occurred when the victim again asked the DA to bring her belongings from her house to a boarding house on the outskirts of Tulungagung City.

After delivering, the perpetrator offered the victim to take a walk. The offer was accepted by NM, because they felt they knew each other, without suspecting anything.

While out sightseeing, in the car, the victim was abused by DA.

Not only was the victim harassed, the victim was also abused by the perpetrator who had been surrounded by lewd thoughts on his customer.

Feeling harassed, the victim rebelled and asked what the perpetrator was doing. "Experiencing this incident, the victim reported it to the Tulungagung Police," he said.

The perpetrators have been arrested and the legal process is still ongoing.

The local police have examined several witnesses related to the incident. "It's been a process, it's still ongoing and the perpetrators are required to report," he said.
