Dozens Of Teens Want To Demonstrate Arrested, Two Positive COVID-19

JAKARTA - The police have arrested 89 teenagers who wanted to take part in a demonstration in front of the DPR building area. Of the dozens of teenagers, 2 of them tested positive for COVID-19.

"The results of swab 2 of the 89 adolescents who were secured were indicated to be positive for COVID-19 and we checked again and from the indicators with the same results," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Audie S Latuheru, Wednesday, October 7.

Dozens of teenagers were secured in several different locations. They were influenced by calls on social media to join the demonstration against the Job Creation Act.

"They were secured in Slipi, Cengkareng and Kalideres," said Audie.

From the results of the search, it was believed that dozens of teenagers would make trouble. Because, some of them were caught carrying sharp weapons.

"Our officers in the field during the search found several sharp weapons. So there are indications that they did not demonstrate," said Audie.
