To This Day, There Are 11 Complaints About THR Payments In Yogyakarta
YOGYAKARTA - The Manpower and Transmigration Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta received 11 complaints regarding the issue of paying holiday allowances (THR) by companies ahead of Eid 2022.
"As of April 20, there were 11 who complained. Some were from retail companies, restaurants, some were from universities or colleges," said Head of Industrial Relations and Social Security for Manpower at the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office R Darmawan when contacted in Yogyakarta, Thursday.
The Post for Complaints on THR Disnakertrans DIY was opened from April 2, 2022 until D-7 Eid which can be accessed both offline and online.
According to Darmawan, 11 complaints came from 2 workers from Yogyakarta City, 8 from Sleman Regency, and one complainant from Bantul.
"The number of complaints decreased sharply when compared to last year's Eid which reached 160 complaints before the D-7," he said.
Darmawan explained that some of the companies that were complained about were unable to pay the THR, some were only able to pay 75 percent, and some were paid in two installments.
He said that before deploying supervisory employees to the company that was complained about, the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office would still provide an opportunity until D-7 or April 25, 2022 to fulfill the obligation to pay THR in full.
"If until D-7 is not paid in full, we will delegate it to the supervisory staff for action. Later there will be an examination note one, an examination note two, if it is still not paid, we will immediately make an inspection report," said Darmawan.
All companies, he said, no longer have the flexibility to pay THR as at the beginning until the peak of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
In Circular Letter (SE) Number M/1/HK.04/IV/2022 dated April 6, 2022 regarding the Implementation of the Granting of Religious THR in 2022, companies are no longer allowed to repay employees' THR and must be paid 7 days before Eid.
According to him, the new regulation has been socialized in various companies, both small, medium and large scale in DIY.
"It is no longer allowed to pay in installments. An alternative solution for companies that cannot afford to pay is to borrow from a bank, or if it is urgent, they can sell assets to pay their employees' THR," he said.
