Jasa Marga: Widening Of The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Completed D-10 Lebaran
KARAWANG - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through the Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division conveyed that the 12-kilometer Jakarta-Cikampek toll road widening project in the Karawang Regency, West Java will be completed before D-10 Lebaran.
Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, said that the point of widening the road was on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road KM 62 to KM 50.
The lane widening work which was originally three lanes to four lanes is an effort to increase the lane capacity towards Jakarta which has been carried out since the end of 2021.
Dwimawan explained that the lane widening project for the Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road currently complements the lane widening work project that has been carried out in previous years, twice. First in 2017, the widening was carried out from three lanes to four lanes in KM 67 to KM 62.
While the second one in 2020 after the MBZ Flyover officially operates, widening the original three lanes to five lanes in KM 50 to KM 48.
"Right now, what is being worked on is approximately 12 KM, from KM 62 to KM 50 towards Jakarta," he said.
With this road widening, it is expected to increase the number of lane capacity, to accommodate vehicles passing on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, which has a significant growth in vehicle volume.
Jasa Marga recorded that the average daily traffic passing on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road was 442,087 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 8.33 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
The road widening is targeted for completion and can be used before the D-10 Lebaran, so as to increase road capacity during the Lebaran homecoming season.
