The Flow Of Passengers In Murhum Harbor Starts To Squirm

JAKARTA - The Office of the Port Authority and Port Authority (KSOP) Class II Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, said that the flow of passengers arriving or disembarking at the Murhum port in the area in recent days had started to get busy. Especially travelers from the eastern region of the country.

"We see that (homecoming passengers) have started to surge, the main ones coming from the eastern region, like yesterday via KM Sirimau, almost 500 people got off at Baubau, and previously there were about a thousand from Pelni ships," said Head of KSOP Class II Baubau, Jasra Yuzi Irawan, in Baubau, Wednesday, April 20, quoted from Antara.

Quite a lot of homecoming passengers arrived from the eastern region, including Ambon, Ternate (Maluku) and the Papua region. According to Jasra, the surge of homecomers at the Murhum port of Baubau City is predicted to start on April 25 and return on May 10, 2022, so it is necessary to anticipate it.

"But when compared to 2019 or the normal situation before COVID-19, the percentage of passengers is extraordinarily higher," he said.

Jasra also said that in dealing with Lebaran transportation, his party made several strategic steps. Starting from preparing a fleet of both Pelni ships, Dharma Indah, and Dharma Lautan ships so that during Lebaran transportation it is certain that no passengers are not transported.

"So in addition to the problem of transport capacity, we also carry out ram checks for all ships, we check the safety equipment, we check the ship's officers, ship certificates, so that in this Eid transportation there are no ships that are not seaworthy," he said.

In addition, he said, the application of health protocols at ports is also something that still must be obeyed, because as in the Lebaran transportation circular during the COVID-19 pandemic, the process is prioritized.

"We will continue to make adjustments to ship routes and schedules. Then also if there are ships that want to dock on D-15 or D+15, we will postpone the docking first, we will prioritize the Eid transportation service so that all passengers can be transported later. So we'll see. "If we are too principled, we will dock, but if not, we will postpone the principle," he said.

In addition, he said, in anticipation of prospective passengers who have not carried out the 3rd booster or vaccine, his party together with the Health Service and the Port Health Office (KKP) have held a meeting related to the preparation of the booster vaccine at the port.

"So if there are passengers who come but have not had a booster, we will coordinate so that the health sector prepares a booster vaccine," he said.
