Cie Akur... Dogecoin (DOGE) And Shiba Inu (SHIB) Can Be Used To Buy Porsches At Baltimore Dealers

JAKARTA – An exclusive Porsche dealer located in Baltimore, United States, is reportedly collaborating with crypto payment service BitPay. This partnership is intended to accept payments in the form of digital assets.

The dealership offers both new and used Porsche cars. Now accepting payments with the popular meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) and rival Shiba Inu (SHIB).

Previously dealers had been accepting payments with Bitcoin since last March. BitPay processed a total of 76,583 payments. In January, Bitcoin accounted for more than half of the company's transactions.

The purchase of a Porsche car using crypto for the first time occurred in 2013. At that time, a family in Austin suddenly made headlines in a number of media for selling a 2007 Porsche Cayman S for 300 Bitcoin.

Currently the 300 BTC is worth 12.4 million US dollars (approximately IDR 178 billion). Since the incident, a number of car dealerships have started accepting car purchases using cryptocurrencies.

On the other hand, this April Dutton Garage as one of the world's top retailers of exotic and rare cars, started accepting 30 cryptocurrencies after establishing a partnership with Australian crypto exchange, CoinSpot.

Porsche itself is known to be friendly to the cryptoverse. It was proven last year, Porsche joined the NFT by launching the Fanzone.
