Jasa Marga Predicts 268,140 Vehicles Will Leave Surabaya
SURABAYA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through Representative Office 3 Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division (RO3 JTTRD) as the manager of the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, predicts that around 268,140 vehicles will leave Surabaya in the 2022 homecoming flow.
General Manager of RO 3 JTTRD, Hendri Taufik, said the prediction would occur in the H-7 period to the D2 Day of Eid 2020, which is April 25, 2022 to May 2, 2022.
The predicted figure, said Hendri, was taken based on toll density activities in three main routes, namely the Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate (GT), Sidoarjo GT and Waru GT.
"We are currently continuing to finalize a strategy to provide optimal service to travelers during the Eid al-Fitr 1443 H holiday," Hendri said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 19.
According to him, the prediction for the peak flow of homecoming via the toll road from East Java will occur on April 29, 2022 or D-3 Lebaran, while the reverse flow is predicted as many as 282,500 vehicles will return to Surabaya, with the peak of backflow on May 8, 2022 or D+5 Lebaran.
"Until now, we continue to coordinate with related parties to create a safe and healthy homecoming, considering that the traffic on the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road is not only traffic for travelers from outside the city but also traffic from within the city," he said.
Jasa Marga has also prepared traffic engineering at the discretion of the police in Surabaya-Gempol, to anticipate vehicle congestion, by placing officers at these location points.
Traffic engineering at the discretion of the police, he said, was carried out when there was congestion at the main toll gates on the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, such as GT Kejapanan Utama, Waru Utama and Sidoarjo 2.
"Therefore, we urge road users to exit before the main gates, so as not to get stuck in queues at toll gates," he said.
