The rapper also responded to the tweet by writing oklama.com. When opened, the site displays an article about an official statement from Kendrick Lamar's record label.
“The following is a statement released by oklama, via the pgLang company at 11am in Los Angeles. Albums: Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Release: May 13, 2022," the site notes.
"All factual information for this release is provided directly from this source," he continued.
This tweet was greeted with enthusiasm by fans. It is known that Kendrick Lamar's last release was the album DAMN which was released in 2017.
The album was released two days before he performed at Coachella and received the Pulitzer Prize. After that, he composed songs for the film Black Panther including a collaboration with SZA titled All the Stars.
Not a few fans equate Kendrick Lamar's statement with what Michael Jordan did in March 1995. At that time, he announced the end of his hiatus and Jordan returned to the NBA.
Kendrick Lamar will release Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers on May 13th digitally.
