PAN Legislator Mocks Western Countries That Can Be Tough On The Russia-Ukraine Conflict But Are Weak On Palestinian Affairs
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, strongly condemned the Israeli army attack on Palestinian Muslims who were carrying out the Fajr prayer at the Al Aqsa Mosque. Israel's brutality is a form of the Zionist movement which is anti-human rights and does not respect religion.
"The Israeli police have demonstrated to the international world an extraordinary and real crime beyond humanity," Guspardi Gaus told reporters on Tuesday, April 19.
According to Guspardi, the attack on the Al Aqsa Mosque shows that Israel is indeed controlled by criminals against humanity. So it always causes problems for the sake of political expansion.
"Israel has repeatedly imposed its expansionist political ambitions by continuously forcing the expansion of its territory, so that it becomes a source of various problems in the Palestinian territory and state," said the PAN legislator for the West Sumatra electoral district.
The member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives then questioned the attitude of western countries regarding the actions of the Israeli army against Palestinian Muslims. The reason is, lately they have been very vocal about the wars that took place in Russia and Ukraine.
"Western countries seem to apply double standards, they react strongly to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but are weak and do not budge on the intimidation and violence carried out by the Israeli army against the Palestinian people," explained Guspardi.
Previously, the Palestinian Embassy in Indonesia urged the international community to act to stop the human rights violations and war crimes committed by Israel at the Al Aqsa Mosque, Monday, April 18.
"We hold that apartheid Israel is responsible for the potential consequences of the killing of Palestinians. And its continued violation of its sanctity will exacerbate religious conflicts, extremism and regional instability," said a statement from the Palestinian Embassy in a press statement, Monday, April 18. The Palestinian Embassy in Indonesia also asked Indonesia to act so that Israel is responsible for the attack by security forces at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"We ask the Indonesian government and all supporters of Palestinian freedom in this country to intervene and activate international legal mechanisms and international humanitarian law, to hold Israel accountable for their continuous attacks on Palestinian civilians and worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque," he said. .
