Alfamart In South Kalimantan Collapses, Causing Casualties, Retail Company Owned By Conglomerate Djoko Susanto Is Ready To Give Compensation

JAKARTA - One of the Alfamart outlets in South Kalimantan (Kalsel) collapsed, causing fatalities and injuries. Corporate Affairs Director of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (Alfamart) Solihin said his company was ready to bear the medical costs of the victims of the collapse of the Alfamart outlet building.

"Alfamart will bear the medical expenses and compensation for the victims. This is a form of our concern, this is a condition that we absolutely hope will not happen," he said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 19.

Solihin expressed his concern over the incident. He admitted that he had sent a team to go directly to see the conditions in South Kalimantan. This includes meeting with the families of the victims.

"Representing the management of Alfamart, I am sorry and condolences for the sudden collapse of the Alfamart Store building.

Solihin said that his party still did not know the exact cause of the collapse of the minimarket building. Because it happened suddenly. Even so, he confirmed that all the victims had been successfully evacuated at 09.40 local time.

"Alhamdulillah, everything has been successfully evacuated. It is certain that the team that carried out the checks there was coordinated by South Kalimantan's Tagana, we have a Tagana post in South Kalimantan, based on information and family confessions, all of them have been found to be exact at 21.40 WITA," he said.

For your information, 15 people were trapped in the collapsed minimarket building in Gambut District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

Wakapolres Banjar Kompol Mohammad Fihim who was at the scene said the 15 people are temporary data from the statements of witnesses.

"There are six employees of the Alfamart minimarket on duty, the remaining nine are estimated to be shopping," said Mohammad Fihim as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18.

The latest update, of the victims, three of them were found dead because they were buried. Eight victims were found alive, including a volunteer and were immediately evacuated to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the victims who are still buried are four people.
