Finally Open Voice, Cak Imin Admits Proposed Postponement Of Elections To Help Ma'ruf Amin In The Hereafter

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin has finally opened his voice regarding the issue of postponing the election which has been rejected by President Joko Widodo.

Waiting for his response after the student demonstration, Cak Imin admitted that the proposed postponement of the election was to help Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. The reason is, two years after the pandemic, the government can't do anything. This was conveyed by Cak Imin in his speech at the 62nd PMII Harlah peak event with the theme 'Transformation of the Movement, Caring for Civilization' which took place on Monday night, April 18. The event was uploaded on PMIIOFFICIAL's YouTube account. "My suggestion is to help Kiai Ma'ruf Amin, in order to help the people. Why help Kiai Ma'ruf? Because so that later in the afterlife, if you are asked this is not enough, it is not enough, the reason is because 2 years of a pandemic there can't be anything," said Cak Imin as seen on the PMIIOFFICIAL YouTube account, Tuesday, April 19.

For the past two years, Cak Imin assessed, the government has only focused on the pandemic, making it difficult to organize events. As a result, the state budget has been used up for handling the pandemic.

"The budget in the DPR has run out to take care of the pandemic, the IKN (National Capital City) has not been worked out at all because of 2 years (pandemic)," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR for People's Welfare (Kesra).

However, the PB PMII National Board of Trustees also did not dismiss the many rejections in the proposed postponement of the election. He said that this is normal in a democracy, so it doesn't need to be exaggerated, let alone a demonstration.

"Democracy is free of proposals, free to refuse, and proposals are accepted and rejected, there is no need for demonstrations. The name is also a proposal, how come you use demo proposals, anyway? Moreover, he wants to use thumps," said Cak Imin. Cak Imin emphasized, he was not insistent discourse on the postponement of the election, but purely only a suggestion. Moreover, he knows that President Jokowi has rejected his proposal. "That's why it's called a proposal. I emphasize this, I'm not insistent, I'm just saying this is a suggestion. Moreover, the President has clearly stated his attitude (refuses to postpone the election, ed). It's also called a business," said Cak Imin.
