Satpol PP Arrests Six Commercial Sex Workers Who Are Looking For Customers In Bekasi

BEKASI REGENCY - As many as six commercial sex workers (PSK) in Bekasi Regency, West Java were raided by joint officers in order to suppress community diseases while maintaining the sanctity of the month of Ramadan.

"This raid is a routine activity carried out to reduce social diseases in the Bekasi Regency area. They are still determined to operate during the Holy Month of Ramadan," said Head of Bekasi Regency Satpol PP Dodo Hendra Rosika in Cikarang, Tuesday, April 19.

Dodo said the raid this time involved dozens of joint personnel consisting of the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP, Bekasi Metro Police, Kodim 0509, and POM TNI, as well as a team for handling the Social Welfare Service (PPKS) of the Bekasi Regency Social Service.

During the raid, officers targeted a number of points that are usually used as hangout locations for female sex workers along Jalan Raya Inspection Kalimalang based on community reports.

"We are conducting a sweep along the Kalimalang Inspection Road starting from the Tegal Gede area to Tegal Danas until it is close to the border with Karawang Regency," he said, quoted by Antara.

From the results of the search, officers managed to secure six sex workers who were found to be operating in the area of ​​Kampung Pasirkonci, Pasirsari Village, South Cikarang District, and Cilampayan Village, Pasirtanjung Village, Central Cikarang District.

"We have secured the six female commercial sex workers for data collection," said Yanuar, Head of Social Rehabilitation at the Bekasi District Social Service.

He explained that the prostitutes who were caught in the raid were then assessed after being recorded and then sent to a social rehabilitation center for prostitutes in the Sukabumi area.

"There they will be given coaching and skills training that can be useful for them as a new source of livelihood," he said.

Yanuar hopes that the joint raids will be able to prevent social conflicts from arising in the community while at the same time maintaining the solemnity of the residents' worship during the month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri/2022 AD.
