Police Arrest Suspicious Unnamed Ship In North Sumatra's Tanjungbalai Waters

MEDAN - Tanjungbalai Polres Satpolair personnel, North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra) arrested an unnamed ship that was suspected while sailing in the waters in the area.

"Patrol vessel KP II-1-23 Satpolair Tanjungbalai Police is pursuing a ship destined for sea," said Tanjungbalai Police Chief AKBP Triyadi, represented by Kasatpolair AKP T Sianturi, in a written statement quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18.

Sianturi said the ship could be stopped by officers. Before inspecting the ship, the officer checks the body temperature of the crew (ABK) using a thermo scan tool.

"From the results of the inspection of the ship, it turned out that there was no name and sign of the GT line and the number commanded by Syamsul Bahri," he said.

Sianturi said the ship came from Tanjungbalai to sea, with incomplete ship documents.

Furthermore, the captain was given a warning and directed to take care of his ship's letter at the local harbormaster's office, an appeal and direction to always be vigilant in sailing safety at sea.

"The number of crew members/passengers is four people, the ship's cargo of levee fishing gear and no illegal or unlawful items were found," said Head of the Tanjungbalai Police Headquarters.
