Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Bans Official Cars From Being Used For Lebaran Homecoming

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution emphasized that he would not allow official cars belonging to the regional government to be used to carry out the 2022 Eid homecoming.

"We will immediately issue an advisory that the Medan City Government official car is for work, not for going home," said Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18.

This statement was conveyed by Bobby Nasution in response to the regulation of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) prohibiting state civil servants (ASN) from using official cars for Lebaran 2022 homecoming.

Like last year, Bobby Nasution also prohibited the use of official vehicles belonging to the Medan City Government for ASN going home on Eid 1442 Hijriah.

Previously, President Joko Widodo set a national holiday for Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri on May 2-3 2022 and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr on April 29, 4, 5, and 6 May 2022.

"And we can monitor this appeal. The monitoring is not the people who cannot go home, but the vehicles that cannot be brought home," said Bobby.

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said ASN in the Medan City Government environment who used official cars for going home would be subject to sanctions.

"The sanctions, we'll talk about it first," he said.

Previously, PANRB Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said the government did not impose a homecoming ban for ASN for Eid 2022.

However, the PANRB Ministry prohibits ASN who want to carry out Lebaran homecoming this year using official cars.

This is stated in the Circular of the Minister of PANRB No. 13/2022 concerning Leave for State Civil Servants during the National Holiday Period and Joint Leave for Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah.
