About Erik Ten Hag's Invitation To MU, Robin Van Persie Chooses To Stay In The Netherlands For The Sake Of His Family

JAKARTA - Erik Ten Hag's attempt to bring Robin van Persie with him to Manchester United ended in disappointment. The reason, Van Persie refused the offer.

Ten Hag is a strong candidate for Manchester United's new coach for next season. The name Ten Hag replaces Mauricio Pochettino and Julen Lopetegui as other potential coaches.

If Ten Hag really joins Manchester United, the former Bayern Munich II coach wants to bring two assistant coaches with him to Old Trafford. The first is the number two at Ajax Amsterdam, Michael van der Gaag who has also confirmed his participation.

As for the second candidate, Ten Hag chose someone who knew the club well. Therefore, he wanted to invite Robin van Persie as the ideal candidate.

Regarding Van Persie, quoted from the Daily Star, Monday, the former United player for three years has rejected Ten Hag's invitation because he prefers to stay at Feyenoord's academy.

Van Persie's decision to stay in the Netherlands was also because his son was playing for the Feyenoord youth team. In addition, he also did not want to invite his family to move from the Netherlands to enforce his wishes.

If Van Persie really refused the invitation, this would be a big blow for Ten Hag. For that, he must have an alternative in finding a second candidate.

Ten Hag is now reportedly considering a move to bring Steve McClaren back to the Red Devils or Rene Meulensteen. Both names have worked as assistant managers at Old Trafford in the past during the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson.
