East Java Governor Issues Circular Letter Joint Leave For Eid, Orders Inspectorate To Supervise Official Cars So ASNs Are Not Used For Homecoming

SURABAYA - East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, issued a circular letter of joint leave for state civil servants in the local provincial government and private employees in the context of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"With the issuance of this circular, we hope it will become a concern for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and employees of private institutions in East Java", she said at the Grahadi State building in Surabaya, Monday, April 18.

The circular letter numbered: 2608 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2022.

In this regulation, it has been determined that Eid al-Fitr in 2022 is set for the 2022 Eid Al-Fitr Joint Leave to be carried out on 29 April 2022 and then 4-6 May 2022.

The circular letter was issued following up on the certainty regarding the 2022 joint leave that had been decided by the government and announced by President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Wednesday, April 6.

In addition, the circular letter refers to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 963 of 2021, Number 3 of 2021, and Number 4 of 2021 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2022.

"This circular letter is also to provide efficiency and effectiveness of working days, as well as to provide guidelines for government and private agencies in carrying out holidays and joint leave", she said.

Meanwhile, the implementation of joint leave for private institutions or agencies as stated in the circular letter is welcome by Governor Khofifah to be arranged by their respective leaders.

With the issuance of this circular letter, the number one person in the East Java Provincial Government gave a message to all East Java residents to stay alert and not be careless in welcoming Eid 2022.

Although the development of COVID-19 cases continues to slop and the government has allowed going home, he advised that health protocols must still be implemented.

Especially to the ASN of the East Java Provincial Government, Khofifah has also emphasized that it is not allowed to go home using official cars.

"I have assigned the Head of the East Java Provincial Government Inspectorate to carry out this task of controlling and supervising", said the former Minister of Social Affairs.

For those who have not followed the third dose of vaccine or booster, he appealed to immediately do so to protect themselves, their families, and others.

"Don't make the Eid holidays and going home a gap for the spread of COVID-19. Keep welcoming the day of victory by completing booster vaccine doses and enforcing health protocols", said Khofifah.
