Update On COVID-19 As Of 6 October: New Cases Of 4,056, Accumulated Cases Of 311,176
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 36,342 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,056 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 311,176 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, October 6.
Today's cases increased by 3,844 so that a total of 236,437 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 121 people and a total of 11,374 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,107 new cases and a total of 80,979 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java which has 508 new cases with a total of 24,910 cases. Central Java has 400 new cases and a total of 24,529 cases. East Java has 282 new cases and a total of 45,417 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 200 new cases and a total of 9,763 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,017 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 340 recovered cases, West Sumatra with an additional 300 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 292 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are North Maluku and Gorontalo.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,551,507. In detail, 3,494,398 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 57,109 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.5 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 140,305 people. Currently, 498 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
