Cares For Protect Successfully Prevents 538 Thousand People Infected With COVID-19 From Entering Public Spaces

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Directorate General of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Siti Nadia Tarmizi claims that the government's tracing application, PeduliLindungi has succeeded in preventing millions of people from contracting COVID-19.

Nadia revealed, this prevention was carried out when people scanned QR before entering public places and traveling.

In a sense, users with red and black statuses in PeduliLindungi are prohibited from traveling using public transportation and entering these public spaces.

"Throughout 2021-2022, PeduliLindungi has prevented 3,733,067 people with red status (incomplete vaccination) from entering public spaces and has prevented 538,659 attempts of people infected with COVID-19 (black status) from traveling domestically or accessing closed public spaces," he said. Nadia in her statement, Sunday, April 17.

Nadia emphasized that PeduliLindung has contributed to the low transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia compared to neighboring countries, and even other developed countries.

"This application has a big role in suppressing the transmission rate when we experience Delta and Omicron waves," said Nadia.

Furthermore, Nadia explained that the massive use of PeduliLindung has a positive impact on conducting surveillance policies. PeduliLindung also has features to locate the nearest vaccine, telemedicine and drug delivery features.

Then, there is also the issuance and digital wallet feature of WHO-standard Indonesian certificates for ease of travel for Indonesian citizens across countries, a health alert card feature for domestic travel, and statistical data for government strategic decision making.

"PeduliLindung has transformed into an integrated service that makes it easier to trace, track, give warnings, and in order to facilitate a new life order," he added.
