BMKG Predicts Heavy Rain In Several Regions Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning forecast for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that could potentially occur in several parts of Indonesia, on Sunday, April 17.

Information quoted from the BMKG website in Jakarta, Sunday, mentioned the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds for the provinces of Aceh, Jambi, Lampung, Riau, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Bali. .

Similar conditions also have the potential to occur in the provinces of West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, West Papua.

According to BMKG, cyclonic circulation was observed in the Riau Islands and the Arafura Sea south of Papua which forms a convergence area extending from the Malacca Strait to the Riau Islands and in the Arafura Sea.

Other convergence areas were observed extending from Aceh to North Sumatra, from Riau to Bengkulu, from Central Java to West Java, from North Kalimantan to East Kalimantan, in South Kalimantan, from Central Sulawesi to South and Southeast Sulawesi, in Maluku, in West Papua, and in Papua.

According to the BMKG, this condition is able to increase the growth of rain clouds around the cyclonic circulation area and along the convergence/confluence area.
