Surabaya City Government Provides Youth Tough Scholarships For Students, These Are The Conditions
SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government provides Youth Tough Scholarships for active college students and new students through the National Selection for State Universities (SNMPTN) for City of Heroes residents.
Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi said that registration for the scholarship was opened on April 14-2 May 2022 through the https://besmart.surabaya.go.id/ page. Participants must fill out and attach a number of requirements for prospective scholarship recipients.
"This scholarship is specifically for students, I hope they can take advantage of this opportunity. Because all Surabaya City residents who are currently in college can register," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi as reported by Antara, Saturday, April 16.
Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports and Tourism (Dispudporapar) Surabaya City Wiwiek Widayati said there were two different requirements for prospective registrants, namely, for active students and students who entered through the SNMPTN route.
"For active students, it is mandatory to have a Surabaya ID card, currently studying at a university in collaboration with the Surabaya City Government. The maximum is 6th semester for undergraduate students and 4th semester for D-3 students," said Wiwiek.
Other requirements, he continued, are having a final GPA of 3.00, attaching a never-married certificate from the local village, a health certificate from a government agency doctor, and attaching an SKCK from the local police.
"Having academic achievement as evidenced by a minimum GPA of 3.00 until the semester when registering or non-academic achievements as evidenced by certificates/awards achieved at least in the last 3 years," he said.
In addition, prospective scholarship recipients are also required to fill out a form and upload the data to the Besmart application https://besmart.surabaya.go.id/ and if you come from a poor family, you can attach a certificate.
Meanwhile, prospective scholarship recipients who come from SNMPTN students are required to have a Surabaya ID card, a certificate explaining that they have been accepted at a university in collaboration with the Surabaya City Government.
"Never married certificate from the local kelurahan, health certificate from a government agency doctor, and attaching the SKCK from the local police," he said.
The next requirement is to have academic achievement (as evidenced by the grades of the report card each semester in class XII) or non-academic achievements as evidenced by certificates/awards achieved at least in the last 3 years.
"Fill out the form and upload the data to the Besmart application https://besmart.surabaya.go.id/ and if you come from a poor family, you can attach a certificate," he said.
Wiwiek explained, for students who get the scholarship, the Surabaya City Government will provide UKT (single tuition), pocket money and money to buy necessities such as books and stationery.
"When it comes to disbursement, UKT is every KRS, but if it's pocket money and money for education, it's fixed every month," said Wiwiek.
