7 Piers Of Bakauheni Port Ready To Operate During Lebaran Homecoming
BANDARLAMPUNG - The manager of the Bakauheni Port in Lampung has prepared seven piers to serve crossings during the 2022 Lebaran homecoming.
"As for ASDP's readiness to welcome Eid transportation, all facilities have been prepared, including docks and ships," said General Manager (GM) of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Suharto, quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 16.
As many as 7 piers are declared ready to be used to transport Lebaran transportation.
"The seven piers, namely 1 executive pier and 6 regular piers have been repaired and are ready to be used for Lebaran transportation this year," he said.
According to him, to expedite operations during Lebaran homecoming, a counter for passengers and vehicles has also been added.
"To anticipate the surge in passengers, 8 portable counters for passengers have been added, then there are 5 additional vending machines," he said.
Suharto continued, for the ships that have been provided there are 70 units of ships, of which there are 65 units of regular ships and 5 units of express ships.
"Everything has been carefully prepared, and to prevent the accumulation of passengers, parking pockets have been provided in the port," he said.
Meanwhile, the capacity of parking pockets inside the port is recorded to be able to accommodate up to 6,000 vehicles.
"If there is a buildup, we will also prepare land for temporary accommodation. Then for checking the status of vaccination as a requirement for going home, we have also coordinated with related parties. We hope that with this readiness, going home can go smoothly without obstacles," added Suharto.
